Welcome to what started as my journal entries on my revelations about life as a young person. My parents always taught me to take note of the golden nuggets that people have to pass onto you. I know what you are thinking—golden nuggets? But what they were referring to by “golden nugget” was the one thing I could learn from someone and grow from. They would say that the golden nuggets of wisdom from the people I would meet in life would have the ability to shape me in a positive way.
Whenever I learned something valuable about life, through my own findings or through the lessons somebody or something taught me, I would write it down in my journal. To look back at the years of life lessons I had learned was invaluable, something that would empower me whenever I faced one of life’s many speedbumps.
What you are about to read are some of the key lessons that have shaped me to be who I am today. To believe anything is possible, to stand strong in the face of adversity, and to spend every day working to send the elevator back down and help others in some fashion. As you read the lessons and stories I have written, I hope you gain a better understanding of your capabilities, which are limitless.
My hope for this book is to be able to empower, inspire, and help you discover the unlimited power within.
I believe there are extraordinary things in all of us. Our abilities span far beyond what we can even imagine. Our impact is greater than we think; we can touch more lives than we believe. But there is something holding us back from doing great things. Some sort of cuff or chain restricting us to only think within a boundary – to only believing we can do what others tell us we can. The chain that binds us in youth to believing there is nothing we can do to solve the world’s problems.
I challenge you to break free of the chains that bind you. I challenge you to be extraordinary. To use the words in this book as a way to remind yourself of your infinite ability to have a profound impact on the world around you. Remember that it is your choice. It is your choice to remain bound by what others tell you that you can and cannot do. But it is also your choice to discover The Unlimited Power of You(th).
In Spider-Man, his uncle, Benjamin Parker says, “With great power comes great responsibility.” This phrase is quite fitting in this context as there is great power in our youth. We have the ability to change the world—and I would venture to say that is a great power. But with this great power, according to Uncle Ben, comes great responsibility: a responsibility to make the world a better place. This means a responsibility to the impoverished, for they could be our mothers, our fathers, our sisters, and our brothers. So should you chose to be a superhero or superheroine, know that it comes with a social responsibility to our global community. I want you to create your own personal superhero or superheroine mission, create a north star, and when you reach your goal… set a new one. In the back of this book is a section dedicated to your reflections. And as you discover your potential through utilizing the lessons in this book, I urge you to write your thoughts down in the back of this book as I did when I found inspiration.
Hopefully, you will look back at it one day and realize that the powers you think were created, in fact, were there all along. That all it took was a breaking of the chains to finally uncover...
